The night was clear and cold, and the Podkoren racecourse is already waiting for the giant slalom racers.

62 athletes from 21 countries will tackle the slope today. The first run was set by Poul Epstein of Slovakia, the second will be set by Renzo Valsecchi of Switzerland. The competitors are in high spirits, as are the first fans who are already arriving at the venue.
